Baccarat Cheat App – Last weekend, I visited the casino with some friends. Of all the games, we enjoy North American style Baccarat the most. This type of Baccarat is often called Punto Banco. In other words, Punto Banco is a card game where two hands compete: “
“. In each coup (a round of the game), both hands are dealt either 2 or 3 cards, depending on a complex drawing scheme, and all cards have a certain value. In other words , the hand with the highest total value of cards wins the coup, after which a new one begins. Before each coup, players can bet on which of the hands will win. Neither hand is connected to any way to the actual house or the player/gambler, so a bet can be placed on either. A total of three different bets can be placed in a Punto Banco game:

If a punto or banco bet is correct, their bet will receive a 100% payout. However, housing tax will often be levied on Banco gains. For example, Banco wins may only pay 95%, or specific Banco wins (eg total card value of 5) may pay less (eg 50%). Depending on the house rules, a correct bet on a draw (Egalité) will pay either 800% or 900%. A wrong bet on Punto or Banco stands if Egalité is awarded. In all other cases of wrong bets, the house takes the money.

My friends and I like Punto Banco because it is completely random but seems “playable”. Punto Banco is played with six or eight decks, so there is no way to know which cards will come next. Also, the card drawing rules are pretty complicated, so you never really know what’s going to happen. Sometimes Punto and Banco only get two cards, other times the hand you bet on gets its third card, which can just go back and forth. The perceived playability of Punto Banco comes from our human error to see patterns in chance. Often casinos will put up a screen with the last fifty results (see below) to tempt players to (wrongly) spot and bet on patterns. Alternatively, you may find it wise to bet against the table (play Punto when others go for Banco) or play the bet won on the last hand. Since the hands are made quickly and the minimum bet is usually 10+ Euro/Dollar, Punto Banco is a quick way to find out how lucky you are.
So back to last weekend’s trip to the casino. Unfortunately, my friends and I lost some money at the Punto Banco table. We know the house has an edge (albeit less than in other games), but we’re usually pretty lucky. We often discuss what is a good strategy to reduce this house advantage. Obviously, you want to play as few games as possible, but that’s as far as we’ve gotten in terms of strategy. Usually we just try our luck and bet randomly on Punto or Banco, and save on Egalité.
As a statistical programmer, I thought it might be interesting to simulate the game and its probabilities from scratch. On the one hand, I want to understand how favorable the possibilities are for the house. On the other hand, I was curious to what extent these strategies might be more or less successful in keeping at least some of your hard-earned money.
In my simulations, I follow the Holland Casino Punto Banco rules, which means that a shoe with six decks and a Banco win of 5 pays 50%. However, I chose the more generous 9-1 payout for Egalité. A few hours of programming and a few million simulated Baccarat hands later, here are the results:

The figure below shows the results of the five strategies I tested using 50,000 simulations of 100 consecutive hands. Based on the results, I was reluctant to develop and try other strategies because the results seemed straightforward: play Banco. In addition, Wikipedia cites Thorp (1984, original reference unknown), who suggested that no strategies actually result in any significant player advantage, except perhaps in the endgame of a card game, which is likely requires a lot of card counting. If you want to try other techniques, be my guest, here are my five:
The figure above shows the expected value of each strategy in a series of consecutive hands played. Obviously, the payoff is pretty linear, independent of your strategy. The more hands you play, the more you lose. However, it is also clear that some strategies are superior to others. After 100 hands of Baccarat, playing only Banco will usually result in a total loss below the amount you bet. For example, if you bet 10 euros per hand, you will have an average loss of about 9 euros after 100 rounds. This is in line with the house edge of ~1% reported by Wizard of Odds. Similarly, betting only on Points will result in a loss of around 130% of the bet value, which is also in line with the house edge of ~1.4% reported by Wizard of Odds. Punto or Banco betting based on last won (LastHand_PB) is done between these two strategies and will only lose more than 100% of the bet value in 100 hands. Your expected loss increases when you only bet on the final result, with Egalité, resulting in around ~-150% after 100 hands. This is mainly because betting on Egalité, which seems like the worst strategy ever, will result in a staggering loss of 493.9% after 100 hands.
In addition to these average or expected values, I am also interested in the dispersion of the results of our thousands of simulations. Especially since players on a lucky streak can win more when betting on Egalité, because the payout is higher (8-1 or 9-1). The figure below shows that any approach with Egalité will actually result in a wider spread of results. Betting Egalité can be a great strategy if by some miracle you are divinely lucky, have information about which cards will come next, or have

Baccarat is very dominant in Macau casinos. The name “Baccarat” means “zero” in old French/Italian dialects, this is because all tens and face cards have a value of 0. The object of the game is to guess which side will get the highest score at the end of the round, either the player or the banker. The player can also place a bet, which is won when both sides have the same score at the end of the round. Scoring in Baccarat is quite simple, the card values are added to get the hand score and if the hand score reaches or exceeds ten, only the last digit counts, meaning the highest possible score is nine . For example, a seven and a five would count as two instead of twelve. Baccarat is a fairly simple game to compare cards and it doesn’t take much time for a beginner to start playing.
Many players are very superstitious and believe that they have a better chance of predicting the next result when they track past results and results. Therefore, when betting, many players rely heavily on a system of scoreboards. Many Asian players carefully look at the scoreboards before each bet and even choose the table to play based on the patterns on the scoreboards. However, the leaderboard system for a beginner is not as straightforward as the game and requires further explanation before one can use them to their full potential.
The purpose of scoreboards is to see if there are any trends or repetitions in the shoe so that it is possible to “predict” the next outcome. Technically, scoreboards do NOT guarantee that the next entry will be one of the sides, but they are successful in showing you the trends that have occurred in previous rounds of the game. There are many different strategies and actions that people will suggest you take if a certain pattern occurs on the scoreboards, but ultimately it all comes down to what you do with it, adding an element of chaos in the game.
