Aspinall enjoyed an incredible six months to establish herself among the sport’s top stars, reaching the semi-finals of the World Championships and winning her first televised title at the UK Open in March.

Aspinall beat Shawn Brenneman in the first round on Thursday with an 8-5 quarter-final win over world number two Rob Cross.
He then edged Peter Wright 8-7 in a tight semi-final – coming back from two rounds three times to finish with 161 and 126 before the Scot survived a missed dart en route to a decision.
Aspinall then saved his best performance for the final where he edged out Smith in a fast-paced, hard-hitting battle with a 107 average.
He won the opening leg with a brilliant ten darts and in the second Smith landed two 180s to level 130.

The next two were also shared before Aspinall completed 70 and 120 to go 4-2 as he maintained an average of over 111.
Smith shot 118 and 87 to draw level on four, but Aspinall cleared the ninth leg on double 18 and lit it up with checkouts of 85 and 80 before landing the tops to seal a stunning victory.

Price responded in kind to win ten legs before a superb 106 combination from Anderson put him 6-5 up, maintaining his fine final form with 75 per cent of his doubles.
