Dragon Tiger Gate 2006 Trailer – Lee B. Golden III News Donnie Yen, Dragon Tiger Gate, , Netflix, Nicholas Tse, Shan Yu, Wilson Yip 0
SPL The first two thousand years saw a major rebirth of action cinema in Hong Kong with the combination of actors Donnie Yen and Wilson Yip. In its wake, it has impressed fans with one of the genre’s biggest acts. Matches in film history include a wild finale with Wu Jing and Sammo Hung, making the actor-director duo a smash hit as the first in a series of major thrillers and adventures. Since a few years ago with crossover efforts, Highlander: Endgame and Blade 2.

Yip and Yen went further and took a page beyond the end of the case. They reunited for Mandarin Films’ Dragon Tiger Gate, a story about three warriors – two brothers separated by their lifestyles and ideals and who must come to terms on good terms. They avenge their master’s death at the hands of a super-powered criminal. Yen, along with actors Nicholas Tse and Shan Yue Yuen Wa as our heroic trio, and with appearances modeled on the masked Yu Kang, is a complete story of brotherhood, dark heroism and redemption on many fronts. Recent success, Big Brother and the upcoming Iceman: The Time Traveler share nominal credits alongside Yen in the release process, a more extreme theatricality in acting.

Those interested in behind-the-scenes gems will also remember the DVD release from Hong Kong, which features one of the more challenging shoots with an opening action scene in a teahouse in which Tse kicks a stuntman in the face and becomes visibly frustrated. Yen stopped filming because the actor had trouble getting the stunt right. I forget how many takes it took, but I do remember the stuntman telling him to hit it and he finally got the shot right the next day (there’s a video of Tse discussing this and it’s unfortunately in Cantonese, but you can definitely watch it. And find a subtitled part of it if possible. HK DVD exclusive welcome).
Tse added that it was one of his strongest on-screen kick performances, before reuniting with Jesse Chan, Andy Ann and venerable Wu Jing prodigy, Yui An, who plays the film’s near-impenetrable villain, Invisible Target . An absolute beauty until the fatal blow. However, mention of a sequel to Dragon Tiger Gate once made the rounds in 2006 with reports that the cast would return in some form. In 2009, Dante Lam decided to direct and produce the film with Gordon Chan, but unfortunately this never came to fruition – such are the mysteries of cinema.
However, if you have access to a Netflix account, you can now easily stream the movie so you can reignite your fandom. Watching nearly 90 minutes of Yip’s fully clothed cast, hosted by Tseki, is a no-brainer for anyone who is dressed. in black. , which features Yue as a nunchaku-wielding gangbuster, doing what Yen does best and looking as good as ever. Considering how much love there is for this movie, it will definitely get everyone to Ip Man 4 and wait to hit the screens with Yen…
…everybody knows? A Dragon Tiger Gate sequel could still happen, albeit perhaps with a different cast or concept. Of course, this may be wishful thinking at this point, but if anyone is aware of this or has an idea for the future, I’d love to hear it.
