World Cup Match Fixtures

Australia have long dominated this version of the game, winning all the Men’s, Women’s and U22 titles they have contested at the World Cup for a while.

Due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the tournament is the first since 2017 (postponed from 2020). In this tournament, eight countries, consisting of 18 teams, will compete in the men’s and women’s categories, with a total of 108 matches to be contested. Among the participating nations are Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India, England, Sri Lanka, Singapore, South Africa and the UAE.

Notable absences from the tournament include the England Women’s and under-21 teams, with only England sending an open men’s team. Meanwhile, the event will see the international debut of the Singapore Women’s Team.

Due to the lack of teams by age groups (only Australian, New Zealand and South African teams field both men and women under 22 years of age), the tournament is divided into separate divisions for men and women, but this time the participation includes these U22 Teams. This will give teams across age groups the opportunity to compete against the Men’s and Women’s Nationals (also known as the Open Field). But still in these races and finals the champions will be crowned.

Indoor cricket is a variation of traditional cricket. It is played inside the heads of a court envelope with a net about 28m-30m long, 10m-12m wide and with a roof about 4m high, on an indoor gymnasium. An artificial grass field with a field length equal to that of a standard cricket field. The softer the cricket ball is used, the less protective equipment is required.

Each team has eight players with five innings having 16 rounds. The batting team is divided into four-person partnerships (or pairs) where two players bat together. In practice, this means that all players in the batting team must bowl four overs and all players in the fielding team must bowl two overs in each innings. For each dismissal in doubles of four or more, five runs are deducted from the team’s total score (as opposed to a player dismissed as in outfield cricket).
