At first. 20 -25 overs the conditions were clearly in their favor but I remember I was just happy that he batted next to paaji (Sachin Tendulkar). It turned out to be his last ODI and he scored 50 and we had a partnership of 100 got runs. so it was an unforgettable story for me”.
He continues to think, “It happened naturally because I kept pushing myself to want those situations to happen. I think it became a game changer for me. I remember with a lot of heart that chase which was really tough, Rohit (Sharma) played brilliantly and in the end. MS (Dhoni) and (Suresh) Raina finished with three overs to spare or something after 330 which was quite memorable.”

From there, my faith grew more and more,” Kohli said in a video posted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on its website on Saturday ahead of the much-anticipated clash of -India vs Pakistan in 2022 Asia Cup.
“The other match that was special for me and I remember is again against Pakistan. In Bangladesh I got 49 odd on a very difficult pitch. It’s the kind of game that stays in your memory forever,” he said. India dismissed Pakistan for just 83 runs in the 2016 Asia Cup, which was the last time before 2022 that the tournament was played in the T20 format. The pitch in Mirpur was one of period and India struggled against Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Sami despite the target being so low. Kohli scored 49 off 51 balls to send them home.
