Kpl Match 2022 – The 2022 Kashmir Premier League (also known as the 2022 KPL or for sponsorship reasons, Kingdom Valley KPL 2022) is the second season of the Kashmir Premier League, a cricket league launched by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in 2021.
After the completion of the first edition of the Korean Super League, it was announced that a seventh team would be added for the 2022 season.

An eighth franchise was also created for Gilgit-Baltistan, but the team withdrew from the tournament for unknown reasons. The KPL management negotiated to hold the 2022 KPL qualifiers and finals in England, but to no avail.

Four KPL franchises (Bagh Stallions, Mirpur Royals, Muzaffarabad Tigers and Rawalakot Hawks) have written a letter to the PCB asking them to suspend NOC payment for the 2022 KPL.

They pointed out the failure of the tournament administration to solve all the problems properly. The main concerns were that the audit report for the first season was not submitted and the league committee was not formed, despite this being included in their agreement. The PCB also said that it will issue a no-objection certificate if certain conditions are met.
In August 2022, Nasir Yousuf, one of the co-owners of the Kotli Lions, filed a petition in the Sindh High Court demanding Faisal Nadeem and Khalid Zia, the co-owners of the Kotli Lions, to expel him from the team. Yousef’s lawyer said that Nadeem and Zia outsmarted the team and did not contact Yousef. They said that Kotley Lions should be suspended from the tournament without Yusuf’s permission. Faisal Nadeem, KPL Chairman Khalid Zia, Arif Malik, KPL CEO Chaudhry Shahzad Akhtar and KPL Vice Chairman Waseem Akram received notices from the court on August 15.
During the 2022 KPL, KPL stopped managing the Kotli Lions after they failed to make payments. Kotli Lions coach Saeed Azad left the team and was replaced by Mushtaq Ahmed. KPL management has temporarily taken over the management of Kotli Lions. The KPL also dissolved the management of Overseas Warriors after they failed to pay their players’ salaries.
In January 2023, KPL management issued an official notice to Kingdom Valley, the 2022 KPL sponsor, regarding KPL’s failure to pay the agreed amounts. KPL management said Kingdom Valley still has to pay Rs. 137 million. KPL also said that KPL still has to pay Rs. 90 million, which they could pay only after receiving payments from sponsors. Kingdom Valley owner Ghulam Hossain Shaheed said that KPL begged him to sponsor the tournament and asked him to pay Rs. 40 million in advance and the rest is paid whenever he wants. He also claimed that he had to pay all government taxes, while KPL paid nothing.

In May 2023, Dawn reported that a number of 2022 KPL judges had yet to receive their salaries. A KPL spokesperson said these payments had not been made due to the huge losses incurred as a result of the tournament, but would be made soon.
During the 2022 KPL, many league matches and all play-off matches were canceled due to rain.
Ghulam Hossain Shahid, owner of Jammu Janbaz Club, criticized the management of the South Korean League and said that the weather must be taken into account before setting the tournament dates. Shahid said that the rains ruined the tournament’s proceedings and that the tournament was supposed to be held in Rawalpindi or Lahore because the stadiums there had proper infrastructure and the weather there was more suitable for playing cricket. He said he would work with the Premier League management next year to improve the tournament.
