Pakistan and Australia are pitted against each other for a series in the ongoing historic tournament. The two teams will meet in the ODI final of the series at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Saturday. Babar Azam elected to bowl after winning the toss against Aaron Finch and Co.

The three-match series is tied 1-1 after Australia won the first match by 88 runs and Pakistan won the second match by six wickets – both played in Lahore. The teams made one change each from the second match – including Pakistan bringing in Saud Shakeel and batsman Asif Ali for Australia and pacer Jason Behrendorff replacing spinner Mitchell Swepson.

Earlier on Thursday, Azam hit 114 off 83 balls and Haq hit 106 off 97 balls as Pakistan chased down a stout target of 349 with six balls to level the series. Ben McDermott blasted a maiden ODI century on the Gaddafi Stadium pitch in Australia in a total of 348-8.

Shaheen took 4-63 and Wasim 2-56 but Pakistan conceded 95 runs in ten overs between Iftikhar Ahmed and Khushdil.

This was Pakistan’s first win against Australia since Melbourne in January 2017. In between, they had lost 10 consecutive ODIs. Pakistan’s previous highest ODI chase was 327 against Bangladesh at Mirpur in 2014.
