Pietersen is referring to an incident at Lord’s Cricket Ground during the first test match of a four-match series between India and England in 2011. The men in blue had no bowling options due to an injury to Zaheer Khan on the first day of the game.

Before the second new ball was taken by the visitors, captain Dhoni waved his hand and legendary Tester Rahul Dravid took the gloves. Dhoni upset Pietersen when he got an LBW appeal turned down after getting a ball that hit him over the stumps. Similarly, Dhoni appealed for a caught back, which was given by the on-field umpire.
