T20 World Cup 2023 Start Date – The DICC T20 World Cup 2023 will start from December 3 in Doha, Qatar, said Chief Executive Officer, Deaf Cricket Council (DICC) Zaheer ud Din Babar.
In this deaf cricket match, Pakistan will start their campaign against Afghanistan in Qatar on December 4 and the first match of the event will be played between South Africa and England on December 3.

Zaheer said it is a historic moment for DICC to host this premier cricket event for the deaf in Qatar, a world renowned sports country that has established its name among the world’s premier sports institutions.

He thanked His Excellency Sheikh Abdulaziz Saud Al-Thani, President of Qatar Cricket Association, for taking special interest in organizing this big event to promote hearing-impaired cricketers and extended all his support.
“Due to the special efforts and keen interest of Ahmed Mohammed QT Al Subai, Chairman of Deaf Cricket Sports Center of Qatar, deaf cricket is becoming a popular sport in Qatar with the involvement of local cricketers,” said a DICC official.
He said that the T20 World Cup matches will be organized at the Asian Town International Cricket Stadium, which is known as the top cricket ground. “Deaf Cricket Sports Center President Christopher Raja has put in a lot of efforts to make good arrangements to host the trophy properly,” he said.
Answering a question, he said, “Deaf cricket is a historic game as it introduced the game to the deaf cricketers of the world, which has a unique history of over a hundred years.

Regarding the organization of the event, the CEO of DICC said that the event which will play 19 matches will see the top eight countries partnering with DICC. “DICC has been working hard to fight for deaf cricket around the world and has been able to increase the timing of international cricket matches by negotiating with member countries on a wider schedule of matches under the Inter Cricket Council,” said Zaheer.
DICC President Stephen Pikowski expressed his special gratitude to the ICC for its support and cooperation in helping to tackle the problem of deaf cricket around the world, he said. “With the support of the ICC, we have been able to bring together the world’s leading nations at one place to initiate joint efforts to take deaf cricket to the next level in the years to come,” said a DICC official.
He said that the 10-day World Cup will serve as a perfect platform for deaf players to showcase their talent and potential and will be an inspiration to deaf cricketers around the world.
Zaheer said that the DICC felt that the World T20 Cup in Qatar would be the next step for deaf cricketers in the region, especially in the Gulf states, where deaf cricketers are gaining popularity every day.
