Green took Australia on a flyer to start the match, with the young all-rounder reaching his half-century off just 19 balls – a record against India – as the visitors looked to have a big total.
Australia lost key heavyweights Steve Smith (9) and Glenn Maxwell (6) in quick succession, with David’s late knock helping the visitors amass a decent score of 186/7.

Shubman Gill’s 49 off 57 balls and Shreyas Iyer’s unbeaten knock of 28 (23) sealed India’s 2-1 series win over the Proteas at home.

With the series win against South Africa, Team India also managed to match Australia’s tremendous success in international cricket. Team India’s seven-wicket win against South Africa was their 38th win of the 2022 season. Former world champions Australia set a world record by registering 38 wins in 2003. The Men In Blue equaled Australia’s tally of 38 wins by securing the three-match series against South Africa on Tuesday.
