Virat Kohli ended his drought of 1019 days for his 71st international century with his maiden T20 century for India in the 2022 Asia Cup Super Four match against Afghanistan in Dubai.

Kohli set many records during his innings. In the absence of Indian captain Rohit Sharma, Kohli opened the innings and Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran was dismissed for 28 runs. He is currently the highest run scorer in the Asia Cup with 276 runs in 5 innings. Before the tournament, Kohli had played only four T20Is this year, scoring 81 runs in four innings.
The 33-year-old had earlier scored an international century in a pink-ball Test match against Bangladesh in Kolkata on November 23, 2019.
