World Cup 2023 Schedule (announced), Check Time Table Team, Venue, Fixtures & Ranking
Australia have long dominated the sport, winning every men’s, women’s and under-22 title at the World Cup so far.
Due to the impact of COVID-19, the event is being held for the first time since 2017 (it has been postponed since 2020). A total of 18 teams from 8 countries will compete at both the men’s and women’s levels in this tournament, with a total of 108 games. Hosts and defending champions Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India, England, Sri Lanka, Singapore, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates will all take part in the tournament.
Notably absent from the tournament are the England women’s and under-22 teams, with only England fielding an Open men’s team. At the same time, the Singapore women’s team will also make their international debut in this event.
Due to the lack of age-group teams (only Australia, New Zealand and South Africa fielded teams for the men’s and women’s under-22 competitions), the competition was split into men’s and women’s divisions, but this time those under-22 teams were included. This will provide teams in each age group with an opportunity to test themselves in the men’s and women’s (also known as open level) national competitions. However, champions of these levels will still be crowned, with the Grand Finals taking place soon.

Australia have won all 10 men’s World Open titles so far and are the clear favorites at this level. They will lead 11 teams in a round-robin format, along with New Zealand, South Africa, India, England, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, Australia Under-22, New Zealand Under-22, and South Africa Under-22 Youth team. Malaysia was the only team not to participate in the 2017 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.

After the round robin stage, the men’s teams will be divided into groups, with the top four teams competing in the Cup, while the fifth to eighth placed teams will compete in the Cricket Tournament.
The under-22 teams will fall into their own division at this point, with the top-placed team among the three going directly to the Grand Finals, while the second and third-placed teams will compete for another Grand Finals spot.

Like the men’s team, Australia’s women’s team will be defending a record at this World Cup that dates back to nine World Cups in which women have participated. They will play a 12-game double round-robin with New Zealand, South Africa, Singapore, Australia U-22, New Zealand U-22 and South Africa U-22. While results suffered due to the absence of the England women’s team (the UAE also participated in the last World Cup), Singapore improved their results by making their debut on the world stage.
After the round robin, results will be split. The top-ranked Open and Under-22 teams will advance directly to their respective finals. Preliminary rounds will be held between second and third place to determine the other finalists.
Cricket Australia has announced that local sports streaming provider Kayo Sports will broadcast live and provide commentary for 43 matches throughout the tournament, including all preliminaries and the grand final. This will provide much-needed insight into the format, known as Australia’s fourth format of cricket. According to Cricket Australia, the game has a passionate and dedicated following, with more than 100, 000 people playing the sport across Australia in 2021/22.
As well as dedicated live games on one court, fixed cameras (without commentary) will be available on another court for online viewing, along with a further 38 games.

Indoor cricket is a variation of traditional cricket. The competition venue is a mesh indoor court in an indoor sports ground, about 28m-30m long, 10m-12m wide, and the roof height is about 4m. The pitch is made of artificial turf and is the same length as a standard cricket pitch. Using a softer cricket ball means less protective gear is needed.
Each team has 8 players and each game consists of 16 overs. The batting team is divided into teams of four (or teams of two), with two players batting together. Crucially, this means that all players on the batting team must bowl four overs and all players on the fielding team must bowl two overs each to make up the innings. Over four overs, each dismissal will deduct five points from the team’s total score (unlike when a player is dismissed in outdoor cricket).
ICC World Cup Schedule 2023
The chasing team must complete a total of 16 overs; once they pass the opposing team’s score, the game is not over (as further eliminations may lower their score).
Generally speaking, any indoor cricket match has seven to eight overs (depending on the country in which it is played). Three or four points are awarded to the winner, with one point awarded for each collaboration won.

Cricket World Cup 2023 India: Schedule, Venue, And Fixtures
England hosted the first World Cup in June 1975, just four years after the first ODI match. Interestingly, the Women’s Cricket World Cup precedes the Men’s Cricket World Cup, having started two years ago.
Additionally, a multi-nation tournament was held as early as 1912, with a series of triangular Test matches between Australia, England and South Africa.
England has hosted the previous three World Cups. Hosting duties have rotated informally between countries since the 1987 event, with 14 ICC members hosting at least one tournament match.
The tournament’s current structure includes a three-year qualifying phase to determine participating teams. During the competition, 10 teams, including the automatically promoted host, will compete for the championship in about a month. It’s worth noting that the 2027 tournament will have a revised format that will eventually feature 14 teams.
Women’s World Cup 2023: Groups, Fixtures, Results, Knockout Stage & Road To Final
A total of 20 teams have participated in 13 editions of the tournament, with the latest 2023 tournament featuring 10 teams. Australia leads the way with six wins, followed by India and West Indies with two wins each.
Pakistan, Sri Lanka and England have won once each. Kenya’s semi-final appearance at the 2003 World Cup marked the highest achievement for an informal member team.
As the defending champions, Australia won the 2023 World Cup in India. Looking ahead, the 2027 World Cup will be co-hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia, promising to write another exciting chapter in cricket’s storied history.
With Australia clinching the 2023 ODI World Cup in November, we have compiled a list of past winners of cricket’s premier global tournaments – Men’s ODI World Cup and T20 World Cup.
